Reimagining festive brand engagement through a live virtual experience that connected thousands of customers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The challenge

Create genuine festive connection when audiences could not meet.

With live events paused during the Covid-19 pandemic, a well-known consumer brand wanted to find a meaningful way to connect with its customers during the festive season.

The objective was to create a shared experience that reflected the warmth and personality of the brand while encouraging families to come together, interact in real time and enjoy an unforgettable Christmas celebration from the safety of their own homes.

The event also needed to showcase the brand's products in an authentic and engaging way, ensuring they were woven naturally into the experience rather than feeling like traditional advertising.

Our approach

Turn a seasonal campaign into an immersive digital experience.

We developed an interactive virtual event that brought entertainment, participation and brand storytelling together in a single live broadcast.

Working with the client, we shaped the content, audience journey and live production to maximise engagement throughout the stream. High-profile presenter Jo Whiley hosted the event alongside Father Christmas, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere while encouraging viewers to interact live through YouTube's chat function.

Every element of the programme was designed to keep audiences actively involved, creating memorable moments that families could enjoy together while strengthening their connection with the brand.

The experience

A live celebration built around participation.

Broadcast live to audiences across the UK, the event featured festive entertainment, interactive competitions and hands-on activities designed to encourage participation throughout the experience.

Families took part in a live gingerbread house cook-along, joined festive carol singing, entered live prize giveaways and interacted directly with the hosts through real-time audience chat, creating a genuine sense of community despite being physically apart.

By blending entertainment, participation and product integration, the livestream delivered a festive experience that felt authentic, engaging and true to the brand's personality.

The impact

More than 25,000 viewers connected through one shared moment.

The livestream demonstrated the power of digital experiences to bring people together when face-to-face events were not possible.

More than simply replacing a cancelled live event, the campaign created a meaningful opportunity for the brand to maintain customer relationships during a period of unprecedented disruption. By combining creative storytelling, live interaction and audience participation, the experience strengthened brand affinity, delivered memorable customer engagement and demonstrated how digital experiences can create genuine human connection at scale.
